World Sailing, the global governing body for the sport, has approved the appointment of two Technical Delegate positions for the LA28 Olympic sailing competition.

Day three of the Dragon European Championship in Helsinki delivered another day of sunshine, shifting winds, and plenty of tactical mindgames — with two contrasting races that reshuffled the standings and produced one of the stories of the regatta so far.

France and Italy both sailed earlier this week. For the French it was their first sail since they competed in the 2024 America’s Cup regattas in Barcelona. It would appear that there were some gremlins, which is to be expected.

The entry deadline for this year’s Round the Island Race is fast approaching. While people can enter until Wednesday 8 July, from this Saturday, 4th July, the late entry fee – up to more than 50 percent more expensive – will apply.

The countdown is on! Applications are open for the RYA Eric Twiname Youth & Junior Team Racing Championships 2026. Exciting, tactical, sociable! This youth sailing event is a firm favourite in the UK racing calendar.

After a very successful one day event at Chanonry in 2024 the Scottish Solo fleet returned for the HD Sails Scottish Championship on June 27/28. The fleet was somewhat depleted due to some regulars running the regatta at Largo Bay.

Duncan’s Regatta took place at Bardowie Loch during the weekend 27–28 June. Duncan’s Regatta is so called because this Challenger event has been generously sponsored by Duncan Yacht Chandlers in Glasgow for many years.

The Enterprise Open meeting on 28th June, an event of the Thames Valley trophy, saw a fleet of five consisting of two visitors and three home boats sharing the water with nine GP14s in their Open.

That only four boats finished the final race on Sunday fails to tell the story of what was a fantastic and challenging weekend enjoyed by eight crews at Gurnard SC.

The good weather provided a lovely weekend for sailors at the Great Yarmouth & Gorleston SC Annual Beach Regatta held over the weekend of the 27th and 28th June.
