The second iteration of the RS Aero UK SW Area Championship held at Restronguet SC on 2nd and 3rd May 2026 attracted a total of 22 competitors including 6 visitors amongst them one travelling from as far afield as Halifax.

WYC were delighted to host the 232rd Whitstable Town regatta over the Early May Bank Holiday weekend with a total of 53 boats taking part including visitors from as far as Bristol and Shoreham.

Warsash Sailing Club hosted its annual Club Championships on Saturday, 2nd May. The variety of conditions and 25 classes of boat across the 64 entries reflected the diversity of sailing available at the club.

Back on the water at last! With no Illusion racing since late January and the One-Designs delaying the start of their season as they waited for the Under Tyne moorings to be laid, its been a rather odd Spring at the Bembridge end of the harbour!

Biblical rain showers, seaweed everywhere, and frequent fleet park-ups = a thoroughly enjoyable bank holiday weekend.

Typical, the Bank Holiday weather set the scene for the second instalment of the sailing club’s short race handicap series: torrential rain, a light easterly breeze, and the tide at the bottom of a spring tide.

Our grand finale sailed us straight to the Midlands at Draycote Water Sailing Club with 25 Fevas attending looking forward to racing with their friends, positioning in the series and getting some fleeting racing in before the Nationals!

Fifteen-year-old Vincentian sailor Kai Marks Dasent has successfully completed an extraordinary 70-mile solo sail from St Vincent to Grenada in an ILCA dinghy measuring less than 14 feet in length.
