Our latest event of the Sanders Sails Traveller series took us to a new venue, Caroline Hollier’s new club at Bassenthwaite Sailing Club, on the final weekend of the Bass Sailing Week (8 and 9 August).

The day started with a slight delay as the wind dropped and conditions became unstable. After around an hour of waiting on the water, the 470 fleet finally got under way for the final two qualification races of the 2026 470 Class Worlds in Enoshima.

After a gentle, glass-like delay on Day 1, the weather gods delivered classic Solent conditions: building sea breezes, glorious sunshine and a proper mid-week ‘Big Wednesday’ low-pressure system to keep everyone on their toes.

The historic Aldeburgh Lapwing fleet took centre stage at Aldeburgh Yacht Club for its annual championships, on 1st/2nd August, with eleven boats contesting four races in near-perfect conditions.

The first day of racing at the Team Racing World Championship in Stockholm delivered close racing, challenging tactics and a remarkable logistical operation on the water.

The 2026 GP14 Worlds reaches its dramatic conclusion today (Friday 14th August) at the Royal North of Ireland Yacht Club, Holywood, with the coveted world title still firmly within reach despite a week of wildly contrasting conditions on Belfast Lough.

The 2026 ILCA 6 Youth World Championships officially opened in Aarhus this evening with a Parade along the waterfront. 429 sailors from across the world walked together carrying their 45 national flags.
