So here we are, day one of the Cadet Worlds proper. The British Worlds Team have all arrived safely on site after their marathon journeys and tales of Cadets visiting the Arc de Triomphe and Eiffel Tower.

After a couple of days of waiting for the wind, Day 3 eventually provided the goods to end the wait for some official competition as the Slalom X got under way during the early evening in 15-18 knots of wind.

There’s something new going on in the Childerley household at this Cowes Week. With Stuart getting back to competitive racing for the first time since suffering a life changing injury, his wife Lisa, daughter Abbey and son Ben are also racing together.

Given the forecast for Monday, the Race Officer scheduled three races for day one of the championship on Sunday.

The Lincoln Radio Sailing summer series is white hot competition, even at peak holiday time we had 13 skippers turn out for round 8, boosted with the welcome visitors of Ben and Hayden Wallace from Huntingdon.

The 49er and 49erFX Junior World Championships have come to a close on Rungsted Harbour, Denmark.

The Race Officer made the decision to hold three races on Sunday 3rd August with Storm Floris scheduled to arrive on Monday, with a severe wind forecast. We set off in good time, with a 30-minute sail to the race area.

To avoid the morning drifting conditions the races was rescheduled to 15.00/15:10 start. Andrew Eddy and Willy Clegg were the race officers

A great week of sailing and social activities greeted the many sailors who made their way to this North Wales Regatta many from inland clubs who return year after year for an annual fix of sailing on the sea.
