Yorkshire Dales Sailing Club are very pleased to host the Fireball Inland Championships at Grimwith Reservoir on 12th and 13th of September.

Ballyholme Yacht Club recently played host to an unforgettable weekend of high-speed sailing as the Irish Sea Challenge and Irish Multihull Northern Championships took centre stage from August 7th to 9th, sponsored by Victoria Pinkerton Estate Agents.

Wow! What a great week was enjoyed during this relentless summer of sun. 383 boats (some 573 competitors) representing 66 clubs from not only all parts of the UK but also from Germany and beautiful Mount Martha in Victoria, Australia, came to enjoy.

There’s nothing quite like seeing a fleet of young sailors lining up on the start line, ready to race, learn and have a whole lot of fun on the water.

World Sailing, the global governing body for the sport of sailing, today released its 2025 Impact Report, offering a comprehensive overview of the federation’s progress towards social inclusion across the sport.

It was a blustery sail for the Scoles Trophy, held at Overy Staithe SC. Race Officers Camilla Warner and Simon Wilson-Stephens set the fleet off from a start line on the sea wall for both races, and the fleet enjoyed planing conditions in the lagoon.

Tuesday 11th August saw 20 visiting sailors arrive at the club to compete. Clubs represented were Bala, Budworth, Elton, Nantwich, Port Dinorwic, Scammonden, Shotwick, Shropshire SC, Winsford Flash, as well as Llyn Brenig.

Light winds and a slightly moody sky greeted sailors for the inaugural Mayor’s Shield, a new concept created as part of the sporting Lyme initiative.
