We are only a short time away from the Europeans again, and several sailors are onsite already. Geography and demographics are the trigger for when the Championships to be held. If the Worlds are being held outside Europe, it gets its own championships.

The forecast all week before the event was predicting racing on Sunday would be marginal and with conditions more like mid-February. That did not deter the 27 Solo sailors who had some very close racing in what turned out to be champagne conditions.

America’s Cup Race Director Iain Murray, has postponed the Naples Preliminary RegaGa scheduled for 25-28 June 2026.

The first-ever Zenith Inland Championships burst into life at Blithfield with 21 entries, including seven home boats, and a buzz around the dinghy park that made it clear this class is going places fast.

This was the inaugural event for the combined East and Midlands regions of the new ILCA Regional Youth Series, sponsored by Rooster who kindly donated all of the fantastic generous prizes.

A lot has happened since the 2025 event when Guildford had no lake and hosted the event at Frensham Pond. The link up with Littleton Sailing Club has been a great success and the seven visitors were able to enjoy marvellous facilities at Littleton.

Day 3 of the 2026 Etchells World Championships is in the books and we officially have a championship as six races have been contested.

The America’s Cup organisers, acting on advice “from ACE Italy, stating that the ACP Board, following consultation with the Host venue, has decided it is not possible for ACP to hold the Naples Preliminary Regatta from 25-28 June 2026.”
