Our latest event of the Sanders Sails Traveller series took us to a new venue, Caroline Hollier’s new club at Bassenthwaite Sailing Club, on the final weekend of the Bass Sailing Week (8 and 9 August).

The day started with a slight delay as the wind dropped and conditions became unstable. After around an hour of waiting on the water, the 470 fleet finally got under way for the final two qualification races of the 2026 470 Class Worlds in Enoshima.

The historic Aldeburgh Lapwing fleet took centre stage at Aldeburgh Yacht Club for its annual championships, on 1st/2nd August, with eleven boats contesting four races in near-perfect conditions.
