The ORC World Championship 2026 reaches one of its defining moments tomorrow with the start of the 71st Regata dei Tre Golfi, the iconic offshore race that remains at the heart of the event.

As the Puerto Portals 52 SUPER SERIES Sailing Week passed its midpoint today with two challenging races in an offshore breeze on the Bay of Palma it is the 2021 circuit champions, Sled, the runners up in 2026’s five regatta season.

On Saturday 2nd May a ten strong fleet of Vintage and Modern Merlin Rockets arrived at Thames SC for the first event in the 2026 Rowsell Sails Thames Series. The open meeting was also the third event in the national Craftinsure DeMay Vintage Series.

The RYA is seeking applications from mixed teams who would like to represent GBR at the Offshore Double Handed World Championship 2026.

With over 15 nations represented, the rapidly expanding X-15 fleet unites riders of all levels in one-design racing defined by skill, progression, and fair competition.

The May Bank Holiday weekend in Pwllheli combined round the cans inshore racing on Sunday and Monday with a coastal race on Saturday.

The Hansa TT (Travellers Trophy) saw an excellent entry of 25 boats with entrants from clubs as far afield as Bray SC Ireland, along with a good contingent from Frensham Ponds, and entries from Whitefriars, Rutland, Newhaven, Chesil, Carsington.

Eight Hurricane 5.9 SX’s made the crossing over to Brittany to join the YC Carnac’s famous Eurocat Event. They very kindly ran a separate series for the Hurricanes to race our European Championship.

With the European Championship having been held in the UK in 2025 a lot of boats came out of sheds, garages and other hiding places to take part and it’s hoped that this interest will continue through 2026.

South Staffordshire Sailing Club, based at Gailey Reservoir between Stafford and Wolverhampton, welcomed a fantastic turnout for its Open Day on Monday 4th May, with well over 100 visitors arriving to try sailing and paddleboarding.
