A great event, hosted by Paignton Sailing Club. The Toppers were welcomed to Paignton by the sunshine, with light winds forecast and an easterly swell to add to the conditions. New faces joined the fleet to compete in some tightly fought races.

The overall win under IRC for the Cervantes Trophy Race was decided by just 13 seconds after more than 20 hours of racing. Nicolas Dezeustre’s Sun Fast 3600 Princesse Gotionude II won overall, just 13 seconds ahead of Nick Martin’s Sun Fast 3600 Diablo.

Australia’s Cole Tapper and his Kairos Racing Team from Sydney delivered a sensational performance to win the 61st Congressional Cup today at the Long Beach Yacht Club, earning Tapper the legendary Crimson Blazer and etching his name into sailing history.

The Topper Invitational training at Grafham Water Sailing Club was a training event on 25th and 26th April for more experienced sailors in the top bracket of the national fleet. The fleet was fairly balanced in ability which made for very useful training.

Another good turnout for round 3, 16 skippers came to the line including one prospective new member Jeff Clarke. The day was forecast to be a light affair with rain, luckily the rain held off until we finished racing.
