For a third day, racing at British Classic Week was wisely delayed by the Royal Yacht Squadron race committee led by Peter Saxton in order for the southwesterly sea breeze to establish.

The 2026 Junior World Championship got underway in Medemblik, with all four fleets, the 49er, 49erFX, FX Open and Nacra 17, completing a full three races apiece. A strong breeze made for a physical day on the water, with the typical Medemblik short chop conditions causing some capsizes along the way, but the racing itself…

The J/70 European Championship saw a change at the top of the leaderboard on Wednesday as HSN Sailing Team delivered an outstanding performance to take the overall lead after four races. Barcelona again provided excellent sailing conditions.

After storms and heavy winds kept the fleet ashore for Tuesday’s scheduled opening races, the 2026 J/80 World Championship got under way Wednesday on the waters of Lake Ontario, where 34 teams were greeted by gusty conditions averaging about 20 knots.

Racing finally got going in Medemblik today, and the wind did not disappoint. All four fleets completed a full three races apiece right on schedule, with no delays despite a breeze that pushed toward the top end of the forecast.

DS Automobiles SailGP Team France returns to action this weekend at the Emirates Great Britain Sail Grand Prix in Portsmouth, the eighth event of the 2026 Rolex SailGP Championship.

The UK Open Challenger Championship took place on 17-19 July. The event was part of the Inclusive Games held at Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy (WPNSA) in conjunction with RYA Sailability and Chesil Sailabllity.

The French Paprec team remain the most consistent performers from a fleet of 13 at a very breezy Marina Rubicón Lanzarote 52 SUPER SERIES Sailing Week and now lead the regatta by two clear points after four races.
