The Australian 18 Footers League’s 2026-27 season fleet will feature some of the best young sailing talent in Australia when the 18ft skiffs racing begins on Sydney Harbour next month.

The conditions are absolutely brutal onboard 11th Hour Racing on day four of The Ocean Race Atlantic, but Francesca, Alberto, Will, and Elodie have not taken their collective foot off the gas and have increased their lead at the front of the fleet.

The 15 boats competing were subject to a very well run championship by Shoreham SC and shared with the National 12s. The first day was quickly blown off with reports of 50 knot gusts on Worthing pier.

The Tasar Europeans have been enjoying a real mix of conditions at the very hospitable Hythe & Saltwood. With visitors from Holland and Germany, there is an international flavour to the fleet, plus all the top UK boats.

After two days of survival sailing, many in the fleet were expecting a gentler introduction to Day 3. Following a brief postponement, competitors launched from the picturesque Tenby harbour in shorts and T-shirts under blue skies and warm sunshine.
