The first day of Gold Fleet racing shuffled the leading pack, with Ryan Lo (1, 7) taking advantage of his consistent sailing and some double figure scores among the leaders to take a two point lead.
Overnight leader, Ireland’s Finn Lynch (-31, 10) was saved by the discard and is now second with 26 pts. Jonatán Vadnai (2, -17) of Hungary also needed the discard to keep him in third with 26 pts.
Britain’s Elliot Hanson (-28, 2) and Micky Beckett (8, 9) continue their synchronized sailing, still at 4th and 5th, but with double the points.
Racing to join them is Finley Dickinson, a 5 and 4 lifting him 11 places into 7th with 38 pts.
In the suffering a setback area; Germany’s Ole Schweckendiek (19, -32) went from from 2nd to 9th, and Aussie Matt Wearn (-40, 18) is now 12th after dropping a hefty discard. Pavlos Kontides (23, -31) of Cyprus went from 13th to 31st. Defending champion Willem Wiersema NED is 38th.
