The 2026 Musto iQFOiL World Championships on the waters of Weymouth and Portland move into gold/silver fleets for the final qualification races to decide the top ten for the Final medal series races.
The first four races of the men’s gold fleet produced a very tight leading group, led by Yoav Omer ISR (3, 1, -29, 3) with 25 pts, second Noah Lyons USA (-11, 1, 5, 9) on 26 pts and third Johan Soe DEN (3, -13, 1, 1) on 27 pts.
Best placed British competitor is Duncan Monaghan now 9th with 54 pts.
Finn Hawkins improved to 12th, still with a chance to make the top ten medal group, but he will have to contend with Tom Reuveny ISR 11th and Paweł Tarnowski POL 13th with the same aim.
In the women, Tamar Steinberg ISR retains her lead despite a low key 5, -29, -19, 19, score for an overall lead of 14 pts. Second is Stella Bilger AUS (5, 15, 3, -31) with 24 pts, and third a much improved Sharon Kantor ISR on 62 pts.
15-year-old Medea Falcioni ITA holds her fourth place with 65 pts, while Britain’s Islay Watson drops to fifth with 80 pts.
Defending World Champion Emma Wilson GBR (21, 39, 17, 7) also lost places, now 8th with 117 pts, and will face pressure from Theresa Steinlein GER and Shahar Tibi ISR both with 128 pts, and looking to break into the top ten for Saturday’s Medal races.
