iQFOiL U23 World Championships – Bright NZL and Tomasini ITA are 2026 Champions

Aimee Bright of New Zealand and Leonardo Tomasini of Italy are the 2026 iQFOiL U23 World Champions after a dramatic final day on the Bay of Puck, Poland.

In the iQFOiL medal races series after quarter and semi finals two join the two overall leaders for a four board, first to two wins, winner-takes-all Final.

In the men, Tomasini delivered in the decisive Slalom racing Final to snatch the World Championship title from his teammate, Federico Pilloni, completing a strong week in which the pair had occupied the leading positions from the opening stages.

Tomasini won the first two races to take the title, Pilloni (4, 2) finishes with the silver medal, while Poland’s Stanisław Trepczyński took the bronze on home waters.

Britain’s Duncan Monaghan battled through from the semi finals to finish fourth.

In the women, Kiwi Aimee Bright and Norway’s Maya Gysler were seeded into the Final, where Bright made no mistake with two firsts ahead of Gysler (3. 2) who took silver.

Bronze went to Stella Bilger of Australia with fourth Sophia Meyer of Germany.
