Flying 15 Europeans underway in Mallorca – DSQ shuffles leaderboard

The International Flying Fifteen 2026 European Championship was able to take to Palma Bay, Mallorca for their first day of racing on Thursday.

Three races were completed, with a steady north-westerly wind (Mistral) reaching up to 20 knots.

Ian Pinnell and Ian Caldwallader started the day with a win in the first race, but were adjudged DSQ, and despite winning the third race of the day are down in 14th with 42 pts until the discard comes into play.

Andy Tunnicliffe and Richard Rigg took the opening race and after adding two-third place finishes lead with 7 pts.

Second are Greg Wells and Andrew Jameson with a 6, 2, 2 scoreline on 10 pts. Third Hamish Mackay and Andrew Jameson who won the second race, and with a 9 and 6 are on 16 pts.

Fourth are Chris Waples and Simon Weatherall  with 19 pts, and fifth Spain’s Victor Perez and Mark Branagh on 20 pts.

Racing continues Friday and Saturday at Club de Mar-Mallorca.
