On June 14th Blithfield greeted our stalwart Midland sailors to a breeze which was slightly more than predicted initially with cloud cover and full sit up conditions upwind for the HD Sails Midland Circuit Open 2026.

The three damaged F50s involved in the start-line pile-up in the New York round of SailGP, are “targeted” to make a return at this weekend’s SailGP event in Halifax, Canada. They will be joined by NZ’s Black Foils after a four-regatta timeout.

A brisk south-westerly breeze provided excellent sailing conditions for the Corinthian Otter Open Held at the Royal Corinthian Yacht Club, Burnham on Crouch, on Sunday 7 June.

Six teams of secondary school sailors from across Dumfries and Galloway gathered at Annandale Sailing Club for the 2026 Five Castles Schools Regatta, generously funded by Common Thread.

The Royal Corinthian at Burnham on Crouch hosted their Flying Fifteen Open on the 13th/14th of June sponsored by Waples Wines.

It was a bit of “Déjà Vu” with a breeze of about 5 knots from the South East for a race that was supposed to go to somewhere off Newtown and finish at Yarmouth for lunch, but little possibility of anything more until midday.

Those who were lucky enough to be there were treated to proper champagne sailing! It may not have been the biggest turnout (a lament of many clubs, it appears) but it was a superb event that had everyone grinning from ear to ear.

The 2026 ILCA 7 Masters World Championship concluded on Tuesday in Athens, Greece, after six days of racing and twelve races completed across all divisions.

The Norfolk Broads Yacht Club (NBYC) hosted the latest Solo dinghy Eastern Series event on Saturday 13th June. The Solos were invited to join the club’s dinghy open weekend which culminated in over 100 boats on the water.
